Over the last week or so, while visiting various pulp facebook sites, I learned Conde Nast is in financial trouble and has pulled IP rights from all other publishers... for example, Dynamite no longer can publish the Shadow.
Apparently this true is for all their IPs, including Doc Savage and The Avenger.
What this fully means, no one really knows or is saying...
Speculation from the company will be closing it doors to going entirely digital to selling off it's various properties...
So if you have been thinking about buying any the newer novels or comics featuring the Shadow, Doc Savage or Avenger, now might be a good time to start scooping them up before they go out print and their price sky rockets.
Hopefully a more direct statement will come from Conde Nast to clear up the matter. I would hate for these iconic characters to disappear into some legal rights limbo.
Has anybody else heard any related news on this subject?
