hey fellas!

lately the question came up if we need a special area (preferably in the off topic section) where only adults are allowed.

it would give the opportunity to discuss good old adult topics like naked women (more naked that is), porn fanedits or whatever isn´t suitable for people that aren´t allowed to drink...

please give feedback if there is a need for that and if so i would pull all my strings and see what we can do...

I'm going to have to vote no. I don't think there would be much demand or need for it.

We have the honies and hotties thread anyway, and the Zack & Miri EE managed without its own section: I know it's really a comedy rather than a true porno, but I wouldn't really want to see anything more "adult" on fanedit.org anyway. I'm sorry if it sounds prudish, but I guessed you'd want to hear a range of views, so I thought I'd give you mine. I'm sure there will be others! :)
 
I voted no also, mainly 'cause you can get that stuff at plenty of other places.

although i wouldn't want to turn it into a porn hub... having an adult section to have ANY discussion >pg13 would be nice
 
agreed Joe, yes if its somewhere where we can share slightly more adults views and opinions about fanedits and stuff otherwise no as others have said it would be pointless.
 
I can't see the need. We don't seem to censor ourselves now particularly, so I'm not sure what we do in a 'back room' if we had one.
 
well, anything that is >PG13 and not a backroom just a section where >PG13 to 18/R is allowed.
 
I charted the territory of sex in FanEdits with Species X. I did ask how far I could go with a FanEdit.

Antichrist, a new major release 'sorta-horror' is more explicit than I went with one shot of close-up penetration. A fantastic prologue filmed in slow-motion black and white to the music of Handel.

I think there is no need for a back-room, keep it open for interpretation. Open to all.

yeah like this community is famous for its cutting edge debates.
when i want to discuss politics, religion or sex, this is the place to be.
we don't even edit arthouse films. you couldn't get more mainstream than this place.
critic a fanedit negatively and out comes the tears and recrimination.
the most fanedited series? star wars, the most popular? SW Revisited.
not that there's anything wrong with it. :wink: I love it here.

Point taken. A thread where sex in FanEdits and movies is openly discussed, yes. An Adult section for getting off on wank films , no.

I don't think a FanEdit that has explicit sex in it should be banned from FE. A warning could be added like "This FanEdit contains adult content of a sexual nature". I think it is easy to see what is art and what is pornography.

In Species X, the hybrid-alien watches porn on a hotel TV and gets turned on. I would have liked to have been more explicit but I felt that the shots I used sent the same message of sleazy cheap porn.

David Cronenberg's classic A History Of Violence (2005) used sex scenes to further the narrative and enhance character development.

Visitor Q (????? Bijit? Ky?) (2001) by Japanese director Takashi Miike used sex in an uncompromising and twisted way but I consider the film shocking and perverted yet still art.

If I felt the need to show explicit sex in a FanEdit I would but it would have to be as part of the story because explicit sex however titillating can be a strong narrative force.

I've been looking for this for AGES. Think we can work something out?

And to adress the thread subject, there is a need for an adult section because adult films exists and they can be fanedited. Therefore we should have one.

The only problem would be the proof of age but we can have various degrees of age control, according to what boon23 would be confortable with. I could manage it all, I have experience in the field and I don't even need my lazer to do it. :)

the adult section wont be just for porn, it would be a place on the board to discuss >PG13 to 18/R material, edits, views etc. etc. and MAYBE some porn. but lets face it porn is a piece of piss to find anywhere so its not really needed here unless you simply have to know what fellow faneditors think of a particular lady/guy/fruit/crustation (delete as applicable)

an adult section just for porn/fanedited porn as has been said numerous times WOULD be pointless.

Here's a final thought: Why not just create an entirely new forum altogether?
