Rogues Alternate/Retro Cover/Poster thread/thread

Eventually this will be painted the same colors as the real landspeeder to better match up with close up shots of the actors, I'm going to make r2 and c3p0 figures for it with stuff from the parts box, the Luke figure uses the head from a luke action figure and the body comes from a Dale Earnheart Jr. monte carlo nascar kit, the Obi-wan figure shouldn't be very difficult to put together with some spare craft supply stuff:

I think I've figured out what the location of the secret Nazi base will be, Ross Island, Antarctica:

I wanted the ufo's to be able to submerge into the water and go beneath the ice and through a tunnel or something and emerge from the water inside the Nazi base but maybe they could also fly out of the volcano 'Mt. Erebus'

Been working on a jet fighter the Nazi's will be using that is a modified me bf-109 with jets attached to the bottom of the wings and guns in the nose where the prop used to be, looks a lot like an me-262, will have some pics soon.

Started working on a miniature mos eisley set for luke and co. to drive through, need to make a bunch of these buildings to run the length of a spare door to make a street, need to find some more styrofoam and junk, was thinking of using plaster to cover them and give them the clay/rocky texture the mos eisley buildings have but could paper mache work? Anyone know how to make paper mache, or have another ideas for 'skining' these buildings?

P.S. Does lukes ride look better with or without the hood?

Mix sand with PVA glue 'til you get a paste. Smear/brush that all over the buildings. Handily this also acts a filler over any joins you've got left. Let it dry. Paint it cream and then dry-brush it over in a lighter shade of cream. Add some dirt to the cracks and corner and it should look good. If you want some larger rocks to scatter round the bases of the buildings, use cat-litter (Way cheaper than modelling rocks).

The same technique has clearly been used on this set I found on Google images...

Either musiced or revel911 was toying with a darkman edit a while ago and I wanted to make a poster for it, I restarted it today. This is basically the same as my first idea for it but different layout of the objects and different pose of the character, will add text and stuff later:

Just for fun:

And somebody made their own read along for The Thing!

^ Very nice. Always meant to try drawing/writing a comic.

Cheap ass RETRO practice/recording electric guitar amp in the works, semi in the manner of Brian May's Deacy amp, made from a used speaker, a used pine box thing and a bunch of spare parts lying around the house:

Test drives produced surpisingly solid results :)

It's getting there, the cover plate for the controls was a lot of "fun"...

Yep, tried first with wood but broke it in the process. It took a lot of filing to be able to use the controls without the plate scratching them at the same time.

^ Me too! You know what, I had started one for Tron Legacy and forgotten all about it, I mean actually making a read along, here's my rough treatment I made up a while back (guess I never posted anything about this since I could find no .jpg examples of the psd files):

Well, no one bought the other speaker from the thrift store, so now its a stack! (I had only been using one of the amps two channels before)
Picture%20136_zpswweqxk1a.jpg~original

Depending on the wiring of the second speaker, with it on, it adds either a bunch of bass or a bunch of honking trebble, so I'll add a on/off switch to the back of the head and a just in case phase switch inside the head. Probably the bottom speakers cone being fairly softer than the top might have something to do with it, maybe it was placed nearer to a window or a doorway or something for a time and that softened the paper material. The speakers are dual cone and look similar to these:
