Eternals – The Apostasy Edit

I've been putting major time into refining this edit. For my song replacement and additions, that took separating the vocals and music and adjusting levels and ducking on a micro-scale. Tons of work, but I love this edit so much. Music volume has been managed much more delicately.

Also, while not completely refoleying from scratch, I am rebuilding most of the fx with other parts of the movie with clean fx that I can swap in.

Anyways, I am very proud of the update to this scene, especially considering how far its come from the official release quality.

Still working, more updates to come.

I found myself pulled back to this edit when I was home this last weekend. We all really enjoyed it in our home theater. We aren't big fans of super hero movies except for Nolan's Batman movies and a couple of Hulk movies so putting this edit in the mix as one of our favorites is high praise. Awesome work, @Wakeupkeo! I really owe you a killer review for this game changer.

Wow, that is high praise @ArtisDead !! Thank you kindly!

Couple more edit notes:

  • Removed Sersi mentioning that her and Icarus were together for 5000 years. (I don't think the timeline works for Sersi unless she included before Icarus initiated a romantic relationship.)
  • Removed Druig mentioning that the Amazon forest was the last place they lived together. (Can be confusing since we see the team break up in Tenochtitlan. I didn't feel we lose anything by removing this detail for sake of clarity.)

And finally, one common comment in reviews has been about the Stages Title Cards. They use a font that seems too different from the rest of the fonts used in the film. I really like the religious gothic vibes it had, but after a lot of thought, I have updated the cards to use the "CAESAR" font that is used for the film title, slightly altered. I added the vertical like through the "O" letters, similar to the originals, to keep that gothic religious vibe.

Wrapping up the polish on this one, v4 will be officially released soon!

It only took 37 versions to get something acceptable of for the Amazon Fight, and 41 versions to get the Babylon Fight acdeptable. I have never layered this much audio before and it has been so tough!

Final v4 edition is finally available now.

Man...I hope you didn't ditch Games People Play. I haven't used that song in a certain edit because you used it, but damn it would have made a good trailer. All the right beats for emotive scene exposition.

You should post that trailer on the trailers thread, Keo.
