The 50,000 Movie Challenge

duplicate correction & empty space filler alert!

19061 the bandit of zhobe Correct
19095 the last train from gun hill (empty space filler) (duplicate correction)

corrects can found on my list or AFI

The new addition does not even make a dent in the number of 19000's missing. I still need 600 of the them in fact it's the highest missing total of any 1000 sequence. My 19000's & 20000's missing total is 1166. that's more 55% of the 2 sequences combined no other sequence is above 500 missing & most are below 400 missing

I have have found duplicates on my list not sure if both are correct

19077 The Little Televillian (1959)
19077 Yukon have it (1959)

Duplicates that needs double checking

19106 Invasions of the star creatures (1962) Released May 20, 1962
19106 these thousand Hills (1959) May 6, 1959

My guess is that the 1959 is correct & the 1962 is has a higher number or none. Neither is on Tubi or listed AFI. the first one is not on AFI & the 2nd Has no number listed on AFI & of course neither is on IMDB or filmratings.

These should not be dups

19124 plunders in painted flats (1959) listed on AFI with number Released Januaury 23, 1959
19124 dust in the sun (1958) Title not list on AFI Released April 5, 1962

I have found found one on Tubi

19120 Earth vs the spider (1958) You may also listed as 19129. I had the last digit as 9 not 0 so #19129 is not open

What a bad start to the new year, with only 8 new titles.

??? Coming 2 America
??? Malignant
??? The Many Saints Of Newark
??? Resurrection
??? Those Who Wish Me Dead
??? Tyson's Run
??? Without Remorse
??? Worth

In the previous year, the final count is 505, which is 1.17% less than 2019. At the rate, expect 408 titles by end of year. If the overall number of new rated films is decreasing in the next few years, it shows that the rating system is failing.

From now on, if I saw less than 10 films, I'll do the weekly post. Maybe I'm going to make a separate thread about weekly rating bulletins in the next few days.

For some reason the actual numbers aren't listed on the bulletin, but if you do a search on the site itself for these titles you get the following number assignments:

52802 Coming 2 America
52805 Without Remorse
52835 Worth
52845 Malignant

52965 Those Who Wish Me Dead

53008 Resurrection
53031 Tyson's Run
53032 The Many Saints Of Newark

They might simply forgot to put the numbers in the bulletin. Reminds of pre-2396th weekly bulletins.

Here are the ratings of the upcoming films for this week.

52267 Barb And Star Go To Vista Del Mar - PG-13
52962 Operation Varsity Blues - R
53033 My Zoe - R
53034 Tortured For Christ (edited) - PG-13
53035 The Tree - PG
53036 Saving Sloane - PG
53046 The Boss Baby: Family Business - PG
53047 Eddie - PG
53048 Courageous Legacy - PG-13
53049 Body Brokers - R

About the numbers, it's somewhat OK. I'll post every time when I saw less than 10 films and it usually posted from Wednesdays to Fridays, as long as I'm free.

There is a separate thread for new titles posted in the weekly ratings bulletin. Check it out.

This thread is meant for films assigned #50,000 and below.

I don't think there was really a need for two separate threads for the same thing.

Totally agreed. There's only four of us interested in this thing. Literally.

P.S.: If I were you, I'd just change the thread title from "The 50,000 Movie Challenge" to just "MPA certificate numbers" or something along those lines.

We're discussing about films which are numbered 50,001 and up nowadays, even newly assigned numbers to upcoming films from the weekly bulletins, so the title is rather outdated.

The title of the thread is irrelevant. The purpose is the same. There is no need for two threads discussing the same exact subject. Especially when those interested in the subject are extremely few.

I found some NR films with numbers.

37880 Julie Johnson
42883 The Last Winter
43404 Ghost Voyag
43544 It's a Free World...
44863 The Immortal Voyage of Captain Drake
45012 Brief Interviews with Hideous Men
45095 Thor: Hammer of the Gods
45373 Star Runners
50829 Ray Meets Helen

The NR films with numbers are among the hardest to find. If all films w/ numbers, including the NR ones (excluding the numbers to be assigned) were included on filmratings, the compilation would have been completed.

More NR films with numbers or "approved but not rated" ones.

43148 How to Rob a Bank (and 10 Tips to Actually Get Away with It)
44358 Copperhead
47598 Seal Team Six: The Raid on Osama Bin Laden
48985 Little Accidents
49061 The Automatic Hate
50357 Swallows and Amazons

??? The Curse of Downers Grove (logo, no number)
??? All Creatures Here Below (as 88888 but assuming it's a placeholder. Definitely wrong.)

I already had the number for "How To Rob A Bank", having seen it years ago. Although, the DVD I saw had it titled as "How To Rob A Bank" and not the full title you have listed here. I've also come across a similar situation where the number listed could not possibly be correct. I forget what the movie was but the number listed iirc was 99999. Eventually I did get the correct number because it was listed on the filmratings website.

I have #43544 the hottest State but it looks like as missed marked it it has 43541 on filmRatings

CJ121997 Thank you for all the editing you have done to my list. Please keep up the good work
