What is everybody reading?

I'm a bit surprised you'd read an EU novel at all at this point.

I read the trilogy years ago.  Decided to read Catalyst a while back because people said it was good and I was looking for an easy read on a trip.  Decided to go ahead with Thrawn as well.

I'm currently reading the Star Wars Legends novel: The Truce at Bakura. It's an interesting read, as it takes place immediately after Return of the Jedi. It's nothing amazing, but it's still a good read. It also contains Leia meeting her father's force ghost, which is pretty interesting.

Doesn't Aftermath take place right after ROTJ?  And isn't it supposed to be very not good?  Or am I not remembering that right?

Is that the one that follows Leia? I had some book on Audible about Leia going to a Casino planet or something. I tried it for when I was running. I didn’t make it far. It was pretty terrible. I just think I’m not ever going to like a Star Wars novel. It’s just not my thing. I thought with some Williams music, I might enjoy it more. Nope.

It does, and probably (I only read excerpts, but they were universally terrible.).

Any Star Wars book that's terrible has to be "universally" terrible.

I recently read "Interview With The Vampire" by Anne Rice, which I heartily enjoyed. Next up is "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest" by Ken Kesey.

Well the author of those books was recently fired for being really negative on social media.

For along while I have been attempting to read the Bible through.  I have been reading both the NIV 1984 and the KJV.

I think you're thinking of Bloodline. I liked it. *shrug*

I'm reading the fifth book in the Expanse series right now, Babylon's Ashes Nemesis Games. Holy crap I can't wait for the show to get to where I'm at, but I'm afraid it won't have the budget to do it right...

I would hate to see everyone hijack this non-SW thread into a SW thread, therefore, it would be preferable for you guys to jump threads.

At any given time I'm usually working my way through one novel and one nonfiction book. Right now I'm reading a great biography of James Madison and I'm reading the Swedish novel My Life as a Dog, which is alright.

I wish I read more often.  I used to read a couple books a week, but the monotony of high school got the better of me (for some reason they try to encourage reading by sucking all the joy out of it), and I haven't really recovered since.

I blame my phone for ruining reading for me, seriously.  Time I used to spend reading is now spent on the internet or playing a game.

Now I mostly read on airplanes.

Couldn’t agree more. Used to be such a bookworm when I was in elementary school, winning several school library awards for most reader, even though most of what I read were comic books like Asterix.

Eventually I lost my reading hobby because I aways instead wanted to go on the internet, play games, watch movies (almost always fantastical movies and superhero movies I’ve seen multiple times... sigh). This is a problem many young people have, especially here in Turkey, leaving us all quite ignorant, no thanks to the terrible educational system that can’t help us have a habit of reading.

On the bright side, I’m hopeful for audiobooks to improve my lacking literacy. I’ve been listening to The Disaster Artist to see if I enjoy listening to audiobooks. So far I’m hooked.

The Disaster Artist is one of the few books I read this year, read it before seeing the movie.  Fun book.  Greg is an unsung American hero. :D

What?

JEDIT: Oh that.  Every place has stormtroopers lol.  Look out your window.
