The 50,000 Movie Challenge

Movieman53000 said:
a lot of movies do not have a certificate # because production companies do not like the MPAA rating practices.. That is why you see a lot of movies especially TubiTV rated TV-MA, TV-14 and NR of couse you will sometimes get lucky and find one with these rating with numbers. it's incredible that 88% of all movies do not have a certificate #. that is a shocking number.

What makes no sense is that the number is found in the credits of some NR and TV-rated films. Usually the number is assigned to a film after it was rated (see the weekly bulletin). If so, then the number shouldn't have seen in the credits of these non-MPA rated films. It's not even PCA times when a number is assigned to films after they were approved, long before the rating system took effect.

Does anyone have the correct movie that belongs to #25932. AFI has it for Toys 1992 & I know that is not correct because filmratings has it with #31932. I'm going empty this space because I know it does not belong to Toys 1990

I pick this up of TCM #19928 Two rode together. I will confirm Vibes tomorrow afternoon. I have it list twice with back to back #'s 28964 & 28965 hopefully it will readable or at least be able make out the last digit so I can open the other space up.

I think #31932 for Toys (1992) is more correct. #25932 is in the 25000 range which runs from 1977-80. And sadly, there is no film which assigned #25932.

BTW, I filled up the 19000 series with some short animated films, since that series is emptier.

I don't know where you're looking but filmratings.com has Toys (1992) as #25932.

The end credits of the movie. Clear as a bell #31932. I have it recorded on disc. I nearly 6,000 movie recorded on disc. I have 10 200 cap filled with movies I recorded over the last 15 year to disc. case 10 is not quiet full but close. 3 movie per disc

First off, the amount of movies you have on disc is irrelevant. You said that "AFI has it for Toys 1992 & I know that is not correct because filmratings has it with #31932.". And now that I've posted a screenshot from filmratings showing that they in fact have it as #25,932 you're changing your statement and saying that you got it from the end credits. And that it's clear as a bell that it's #31,932. Well, I just happen to own a copy of Toys (1992) on DVD and I just popped it into my computer and took the following screenshot where you can clearly see that the certificate number is in fact #25,932. So I don't know where you're seeing that it's #31,932 because it's not on filmratings and it's not during the film's end credits.

Furthermore, #31932 is assigned to Peter's Friends (1993)

This week's bulletin is so small, with 8 new titles and numbers.

52165 This is the Night
52602 Rebecca
52682 Hillbilly Elegy
52692 The 40-Year-Old Version
52707 The Secrets We Keep
52749 Tremors: Shrieker Island
52787 Jiu Jutsu
52834 The Penthouse

166 more to go before the 53,000 mark. We still have 20 weekly bulletins left for the year.

At the pace of 8 titles or less, assuming a lot of numbers remain unassigned, we wouldn't be able to see the next milestone this year.

There's also currently 117 numbers that haven't been assigned yet. I'm counting from 52,000 to the highest current number of 52,834. The lowest number yet to be assinged is 52,044.

That wlll leave 283 52,000 missing assuming most of the 166 remaining 52835-53000 will be assigned this year maybe. Just remember Hollywood is shutdown mode. All movies currently in production & all planned movies all in stand still mode. their is no telling when it will start back up again. it could be while before we go beyond 53000. my guess their could be as many 175 52,000 that may never get assigned at least not any time soon. Baseball is just now started again & their is no baseball being played in Canada sorry Fantastic the Blue jays are not flocking their & just got beat by my Brave 10-1

I haven't watched Baseball in maybe 20 years. And I was never a Blue Jays fan. Always been a Braves fan.

OK then. Go Braves! Wait if you are a Braves Fan you mean you missed most of Chipper's 20 career

I would have seen about half of it. I think I stopped watching because my cable provider dropped TBS and that was the only way I could watch their games. I did see him play his last year in the minors though. He was playing for the Richmond Braves and they played quite a few games against my Ottawa Lynx. It was our first year in the league and I missed no more than 5 games that whole season. The park where they played is about a ten minute walk from where I grew up so I was at pretty much every game those first 2-3 years.

found this one by accident on filmratings

#52749 Tremors: Shieker Island 2020 (nice space filler)

disregard did not see the list

Are we talking about the same chipper Jones. let see now he retired in '12 Bobby Cox retired in '11 & TBS has not carried the braves sense '05 when ted turner snatched TBS out from under them & I dont remember chipper being in the minors in his last Year & him Smoltz, Maddox (Mad dog) Glavine all enter the Hall of Fame in '17 & only he was denied in his 20 Career was Rookie of the Year. That stolen from him by Hadeo Nomo

It's possible to hit the 53k mark this year if the weekly bulletin has 9 or more titles. We have 19 more left for the year. The recent most number of films rated was 20 in September last year.

The most number of films rated/approved was 940 in 2003, which is the average of roughly 18 films rated per week.

You keep mentioning this like it's a good thing. Personally, I'd far prefer quality to quantity.

One of the " "movies" " rated this week is a far-right batshit conspiranoia shockumentary, for instance.
