Cary Fukunaga (True Detective season 1 and Beasts of No Nation) might direct "Napolean" mini-series for HBO.

Looks like Baz Lurhmann is out, and it hasn't been confirmed if Fukunaga will take over, but that's what Jan Harlan is saying. Fukunaga has shown great promise so far in his career and I was extremely bummed he quit the new adaption of Stephen King's IT. Here's hoping this pans out and they do Kubrick justice.

I'm very intrigued/excited to see this. But dear god, not with Baz Lurhmann. Fukunaga is an interesting choice.

For anybody that's never watched Kubrick's early short films, here they are. Day of the Fight is the best, it shows the most artistic potential. The others are paid puff pieces, interesting for historical reasons.

Friday morning, the news that the incomplete manuscript of Anthony Burgess’ quasi-sequel to A Clockwork Orange has been found in Bracciano, near Rome. Titled a A Clockwork Condition, it is a collection of thoughts by the author on on society and the reaction to Kubrick’s film.
Bound to be an interesting 200-page read!
