What is the Digital Economy Bill?
I googled it but what is the gist of it? How restrictive is it? What kind of penalties are involved?
If you guys seriously move out, I think Canada is a better choice than the U.S.
Canada seems to be more wishy/washy and less concerned when it comes protecting corporate profits.
US has the Digital Millennium Copyright Act but I don't think Canada has a similar law.
I did more searching and it seems that Canada is being pressured to have something like the U.S.'s DMCA but Canada doesn't seem to give a shit.
Some info from the
Toronto Star
"For the past 15 years,
Canada has been included on the watch list of countries the U.S. believes need reforms."
But surprisingly, Microsoft, Google, T-Mobile, Fujitsu, AMD, eBay, Intuit, Oracle and Yahoo,
members of Computer and Communications Industry Association, actually DEFEND Canada's current laws.
CCIA says, "Canada's current copyright law and practice clearly satisfy the statutory adequate and effective standard. Indeed, in a number respects, Canada's laws are more protective of creators than those of the United States."

Also, I think the U.S. spies on it's citizens way too much
