Hackers: The 56K Upgrade

I'm happy to hear the clip is effective. I've since tweaked it further so it now briefly shows the same filesystem path that Dade tells Joey later in the movie ("root", "slash", "period", "workspace", "slash", "period", etc.).

Count me in when this is final. My guilty pleasure movie that reminds me of "hacking" in high school back in the day.
Yup. I took all the metal shutters off my 3.5" floppies so they'd stop getting stuck in the school computers, and because it looked damn cool. Or at least I imagined it did. :)

I noted that on item 49, you removed Kate's line that is clearly dubbed over. Have you tried any of the AI voice generators or would that be improper?

I tried dozens of tests with ElevenLabs, but they all sounded like bad looping (ADR) too, so I opted to just remove the line entirely. Neater, that way.

I love the effort and really want to love this but some of the most important lines in the movie are missing and it just isn't right to remove "my name is the plague" and "God wouldn't be up this late" - these are so important things missing, I guess you weren't trying to expand what I thought was brilliant but trying to repurpose something you thought was absurd.

I’ve been really intrigued by this — kinda bummed you cut Kruder & Dorfmeister — but I’m still excited to check it out lol

It's an effective track for the scene, and I would have left it except the Tricky track I dropped in works even better (in my opinion). Especially the lead-in. And frankly, it's a callback to The Replacement Killers, which I enjoyed many moons ago. :)
