Other than the bits with the kid and the chimp, I agree.  I thought the movie was a lot of fun and much better than its reputation.

this movie isn't bad for what it was supposed to be. but yes, the kid deserves the trap door. the chimp's OK, but unfortunately they seem to be a package deal.
