Most new users don't bother reading our rules. Here's the one that is ignored almost immediately upon signup: DO NOT ASK FOR FANEDIT LINKS PUBLICLY. First, read the FAQ. Seriously. What you want is there. You can also send a message to the editor. If that doesn't work THEN post in the Trade & Request forum. Anywhere else and it will be deleted and an infraction will be issued.
If this is your first time here please read our FAQ and Rules pages. They have some useful information that will get us all off on the right foot, especially our Own the Source rule. If you do not understand any of these rules send a private message to one of our staff for further details.
I can't vote yet, because I've only seen Slumberland's Prequel edits so far... but if ADM does any better, then he will get the vote. I'm biased (I have more ADM edits than anything), but anyone who can make ANYTHING out of EpI and EpII is a winner in my book.
I've watched them all and for me it's definitely ADM's. I find it addresses all the annoying things in Episode 1 that Magnoliafan edited as well.
Magnoliafan's commentary is very interesting, though.
i voted for slumberland (again) - i've actually seen a surprising number here and while ADM's is great (and magnoliafan, the phantom editor & the anonymous new york edits are important and interesting...) i find myself going to slumberland's edits for each repeat viewing.
I was inspired by the ideas that Magnoliafan infused into his version. I also liked a lot of what JasonN included in his, but I haven't seen a final version of that yet. So, ultimately, I had to vote for ADM's. His is the one I've replaced my Episode I disc with. It's very effective in a subtle way.
I'd have to look back at the cutlist, but my memory of ADM's edit is that it kept in way too much jar jar and ani. I also recall that he pretty much included every deleted scene, some of which I just didn't want to see again.
Very nice. Looking forward to it. Im going through the arduous task of watching the phantom menace fanedits. In the hopes of finding one I like the best as well as finding one that i can give my friends copies of (and i think they'd enjoy).
