This Isn't The Podcast You're Looking For...

Just finished listening. Man, what a great podcast. You guys had an awesome rapport together. I strongly suggest you try to do more guest spots on his show, because listening to you two was great.

Favorite moment was njvc winking on a podcast.

As the "Unofficially Official FE Historian" I need to make a few remarks.

- It's "Luke Skywalker Conquers The Galaxy"
- AARRSSTW-WTSSRRAA is not the same thing as the "put every word in alphabetical order" thing that showed up recently. None's thing was putting every shot in order of length, and then reversing it.
- "Has anyone done LOST chronologically?" Yes. DaveyTod did that. He didn't submit it to the site (quality issues mostly) but started releasing it privately via Facebook. He stopped updating a year ago and didn't finish uploading everything, but it's mainly "Season Zero" that is the funnest to watch.
- Also (and this is really me nitpicking...) I wouldn't say there are "lots" of LOST fanedits. As of right now there are three.
- "Are there any Seinfeld edits out there?" No. Unless you count TV's Frink's Episode 2, where he uses Seinfeld dialogue for the Jettster Dexter scene. Oh and one time I found on torrents some guy had fanedited the Seinfeld porn parody to remove all the sex and keep the funny scenes. I think I have that somewhere if anybody's reading this and wants to check it out. Edit: Ah, here it is on YouTube.
- BTTF Reality Cut is far from "useless". It's a masterpiece.

Thanks Neg! And apologies to Rogue-theX, if he ever has me back on the show I'll be sure to correct that one!

That was a great listen. Always great to see fanediting get a little more exposure.

Listened to this last night. As Neg mentioned you guys had an excellent rapport. Although I'm saddened that none of my amazing Star Wars fanedits were mentioned on the podcast!

Loved it! And thanks for talking about one of my projects, that was real neat! :)

Methinks a fanedit.org podcast needs to get started. Granted, IIRC there was one way back in the day that mostly involved boon and jorge and it was very much all over the place.

I remember those. Looks like they were here at one point, but the links are dead. It would be great to see some new ones.

I can get behind this idea. njvc provided a great interview. A regular fe.org-centric version would be really cool.

Do it quarterly, so its doable.

Given his prestigious position as no.1 reviewer of edits, I would love to hear Neglify as the host, and have a different fan-editor interviewed each episode, although given Neg's recent cut back of fanedit.org duties, it's seems unlikely he'd be keen (?). L8wrtr would also make a great host, but I wonder if he has the time. Would anyone else be keen?

Ohmygosh that would be great :) *subscribe*

There are more elsewhere, though. The only two (so far) Lost fanedits I've watched are Lost Chronology (which covered season 1 through 5 (without flashbacks), done in straighforward cinematic style) and Chronologically Lost (which covered everything, realtime splitscreen style). Neither is on fe.org. The latter can still be found online, btw. Good stuff.

Funny, I thought about this but then dismissed the idea, who'd want to listen to that asshole?
Depending on the frequency it is something I would consider. Might also be something that Neg and I could either co-host or alternate etc...

Juice and I had discussed a podcast but I wasn't too enthusiastic about it and it went nowhere. I might be open to co-hosting an official FE podcast with L8wrtr and others, especially if it were like a monthly thing or some such.

I listened and thought it was great. And a fan editing podcast is a fantastic idea.

The latest episode is an extremely interesting interview with the Phantom Editor himself! It goes for 2 hours, and has some really interesting insights from the guy who essentially kickstarted this little hobby of ours.

Listen for free here.

Oh wow he got the Phantom Douche Editor for his podcast! I gotta listen.

Wow, that was a brilliant review. I'm more impressed with Nichols than ever. His New Coke analogy is brilliant, as was his question about what Lucas would think if he was forced to accept revised version of Kurosawa's films.

It's also jaw-dropping to learn that Lucas himself would edit Spielberg's or Ron Howard's films to tighten them, and that was Nichols' inspiration for what he did.

I've seen The Phantom Edit before, but this makes me want to re-watch it with the audio commentary. Weirdly enough, though, I'm having a hard time tracking down the commentary online.
