The 50,000 Movie Challenge

That would be a long shot. Their is only 239 movies listed on AFI. Film ratings Has 571 a little more than double. Their is 3828 Movies listed as release Year 1990. IMDB is a best bet. I would not really trust AFI after 1968

I've got trust issues with the IMDB. I've found more than my fair share of incorrect numbers listed there in the past.

Well it was not a 30000 but bingo #29998 Caged Fury (1990) space filled

Thanks. I checked and that movie is not on either the Canadian version of Prime or the Canadian version of Tubitv.

The Juniper Tree possible candidate not available on Tubitv in (US)

Not on filmratings or AFI. It may not have a number

There is a small possibility that the lower numbers (especially those from 49000s-51000s) will be assigned to upcoming films so you can complete some of the series on your list. This year, the lowest is 50335, which is taken by Bad Boys For Life. While in 2003, the lowest is 35329, which is taken by Hollywood North. 50335 is in the 50000 series, which commonly runs from 2016-17 (a gap of 3-4 years between its run and its actual issuance), and 35329 is in the 35000 series, which runs from 1997-98 (a gap of 5-6 years between its run and its actual issuance). As we know, the issuance of certificate numbers is not in proper sequence.

One of the biggest problems I'm finding with AFI is not Only is the Number not Listed but a lot of Movies are not even listed on the site especially 80's 90's Movies. Most people may not care about the Number but a lot of movies are not even listed. It makes it even more difficult when movie you are looking for is not even listed. 1993 only 260 listing when should have at 700 listings that's about 1/3 of the listings of what should be listed. Even if the number is not listed the movies should be. Filmrating is more reliable with Numbers after 1968 then AFI is. Most movies on AFI after 1968 has a 99% change of being listed on Filmrating with the Number. AFI has listing for movies that are so old that the film it self has a label marked on it that says "Caution Fragile"

Additions to "unlisted" films:

37262 Redemption of the Ghost
38190 Hollywood Palms

It's better to highlight these films (1968 and up) that have a number but not listed on FilmRatings with other colors like purple.

I only giving # the color blue for AFI. I did think about doing for Movies not listed on filmratings Purple may be to dark. I'll see if I can get a purple to be visible it may be to dark

Both of these are listed as "Not Rated" on IMDB so I'm assuming that despite that they have a number listed during the end credits?

If the number is found in the credits but not listed on FilmRatings, it's understood that these films are "not rated". FilmRatings is designed for films that are rated.

I went with Gold. Purple is to dark. I may have play with titles that have 2 #'s it currently Orange I change it to Tan or silver. I may list at the top of the list for color meanings

There are several discrepancies in numbers in films (cert. nos in film credits, assuming they are not duplicates and assigned only on one version):

25495 A Perfect Couple (assigned 25616 on FilmRatings)
27861 The Aurora Encounter (assigned 28087 on that site)
29419 Red Scorpion (assigned 29643 on that site)
30196 Funny About Love (assigned 30711 on that site)
34179 House Arrest (assigned 34597 on that site)
35602 Spice World (assigned 35557 on that site)
37242 Gangster No. 1 (assigned 37543 on that site)
37385 State & Main (assigned 37548 on that site)
37635 Windtalkers (assigned 38569 on that site)
37637 Legally Blonde (assigned 38249 on that site)
38215 Project Viper (assigned 38959 on that site)
39784 The Whizzard Of Ow (short) (assigned 39577 on that site)
39989 Walking Tall (assigned 40683 on that site)
39990 Agent Cody Banks 2: Destination London (assigned 40608 on that site)
39991 Barbershop 2: Back In Business (assigned 40531 on that site)
39992 Soul Plane (assigned 40540 on that site)
46302 Toy Story 3 (assigned 46032 on that site)

These sort of discrepancies (differences between credits and the site) created credibility issues, so it's better to have a color coding on it (example: gray for numbers with discrepancies).

I mentioned several numbers about a week earlier, and I knew that these numbers (in credits) are not on FilmRatings. I searched many times.

Yes, I know what filmratings is for. But since you put the word "unlisted" in quotation marks I just wanted to clarify whether these were films that were unrated and therefore wouldn't show up when doing a combination year/rating search or if it was a case of them not showing up on filmratings at all yet still containing a number during the end credits.

That List explains why I have such a high Number of 30000's Missing. I have 216 30000's missing Including the Mystery 39412-30550 Gap. If we can fill that gap I can get it down to about 80 missing still higher then most. I have most 1000 Sequences below 50

I had both #'s for about of them on that list the but rest were space fillers. I may need to alter color coat system a little. I'm running out of color options. I go with with white for these

I'm only missing 18 numbers for the 46,000's and 27 for the 47,000's. Which numbers are you still missing? And before you ask, those are the only two sequences of 10,000 numbers that I've gone through so far to determine how many I'm still missing.
