Amazingly, despite being a fellow Star Wars fan, neither have I. It has been on my "must see" list for ages. I wonder what the best version available is. Didn't Lucas play about with that too, or am I thinking of something else?

Oh jeesh. THX 1138 is an incredible good film.
there's an entire history behind it: how Coppola got behind it, how it was meant to launch a new wave of american filmmaking with AMERICAN ZOETROPE, how the studio execs hated it and didn't get it.
but George got his revenge with STAR WARS.
George himself fanedited it and brought in new fx and stuff a few years back.
the original and the redux are both worth a watch.
do it now.

y'all who haven't seen thx1138 should grab the laserdisc theatrical cut. worth it.
