i like both ideas of a firstling highlight and a rating system to be seen.

and that goes for the whole site.

the rating system should be multi-sourced like "quality of edit" and "effectiveness" etc.

giving the firstling projects more exposure could mean that more people are comfortable putting out their ideas and thus a larger fanedit community.

imho :)
 
I think, instead of having a firstling highlight, how about an "editor on the rise" type dealie. Someone who is new and has put out a couple of quality fan edits.

Or maybe a poll for "best firstling fanedit" or something.

I like the system you guys have in place for grading the firstlings, because we still have a lot to learn about technique and so forth.

and if we are going to highlight anyone, shouldnt it be someone who has edited more than 1 fanedit? I mean 1 fanedit is nice but how about highlighting gekko who's cut 13 or ADM or fathermerrin.
it's just my 2 cents.
 
the inner sanctum, once I have finished it, will all be about the creation of firstlings.

But anyway, it would be a great idea for the Inner Sanctum to be its own beast. Technically, it's a complete pain in the arse to switch Wordpress templates for one page only.

thats... not ... bad... I was going another way. more like a steampunk look.
ornate chandellier, velvet drapes, oak paneling, rich carpets, brass rails, trophy room, games etc. like a victorian exclusive gentlemen's club.
with a Majordomo.
 
it will be on its own template.
Since it has so many categories I want included there, it will need a bit more place than just one page.

yep, the current template leaves no space for anything else but fanedits.
