I have never seen a Superman movie!

Unfortunately whilst The Donner Cut may have had superior shot scenes (possibly some inferior acting though), and it's overall intent is superior, its assembly feels like a bad fanedit. The good news is you're in the right place to find good versions of it.
Both the theatrical and the Donner cut are compromised.

Well Michael Thau is to be either blamed or thanked for the Donner Cut, and I agree the assembly work on the cut seems quite rough and the audio editing wasn't really good as well, but its not because they had a chance to complete filming. Working with only 70% footage and no reshoots/new scenes as an option, you can't actually expect a finished product.
Also its not like the Donner cut is the final version of Donner's Superman II we'll see.

Yorick looks like you're just gonna have to watch all of them lol

Superman: The Movie and the original Superman II is where I'd start. I know a lot of people love The Donner Version, but it is incomplete and I think a novice watching that film might wonder what the hell is going on. The Original version on the other whilst it has it's flaws is a complete movie.

If you decide to skip the original Superman II in favour of The Donner Version then you might as well watch a Fanedit of Superman II as then you'll get a more complete edit of Donner's movie.

Superman III is worth it purely for the Scrapyard Scene. Seriously.

Superman IV is worth it purely for a laugh and so you'll understand Superman injokes.

Superman Returns is probably the one film you could skip. It doesn't really bring anything to the series apart from Supe being creepy.

Man Of Steel is basically Superman porn. If after watching Superman I and II you find yourself thinking 'Wouldn't it be cool if there was a Superman film where he really lets loose and really shows off his powers!" then MOS is the film for you.

I agree with FatherMerrin. The only good thing about Superman III is the junkyard scene (SPOILERS DUHHH), and perhaps the scenes where Supes acts in a certain way out of the norm (I feel all these comments are letting plot points slip, and for a person who's never seen Superman before, I think the joy of discovering both the good and bad in these movies should be up to you :p).
Watch Superman Returns!!! You dont know if the movie's good or bad before you've watched it. :D
And yeah, watch Man of Steel too.
