The Red Apple Crew has been hard at work on The Tarantino Tales. One of the requirements for the edits was that they be 1 hour, or very close. After I finally saw the theatrical cut of No Time To Die (NTTD) recently I wanted to make it so he lived, and also be much shorter in length, kinda like the Tarantino Tales are, but not exactly, since this edit is 89 minutes.

I thought NTTD was an over-bloated mess. It has beautiful imagery yes. Some of the shootouts and tense scenes are awesome to watch in the environments they're happening in. The callback to On Her Majesty's Secret Service (OHMSS) was actually nice to see, but the Dr. No callback not so much. I know Bond's wife dies in OHMSS so someone dying at the end makes sense, like poetry. But I thought the poetry was kinda bad, so I rewrote it and made them all live in a wholesome Bond sorta way. Also, the original death scene where we get all the various character's reactions to Bond being obliterated by hellfire had me laughing so hard. I was cringing. The music was swelling! Had me dying... The story is mostly very full of itself imho, but the cinematography and action was on point.

So, when I started this cut I wanted it to have Short Film vibes, be about Bond 007 in name through editing, also keep him alive through the full runtime, and make it as short as I could and have it still make sense. I wanted to keep the super DNA nanobots, aka HERACLES, as vague as possible in an ironic twist of naming this edit.

I'm currently working on my own NTTD edit with some heavy edits, so I'm curious to see what edits you decide to do.
Especially with "Bond Lives. Half the runtime" as the tagline and the different name of HERACLES instead of NTTD.

I have a feeling this one is gonna SLAP! I haven't seen the Traditional Cut yet, but I'm optimistic as ever for HERACLES.

They are often used synonymously. By members. The IFDb listing places them under the Changes tab as Cuts & Additions.
