Main Project Intentions & Info:

This project aims to bring tighter editing, improved pacing & stronger continuity to 3 films in Universal's Frankenstein franchise & a tribute film from FOX.
Frankenstein - Bride of Frankenstein - Son of Frankenstein - Young Frankenstein
Many alterations have been made to give each film a quicker pulse, a more modern presentation & a better series continuity all while retaining their original charm.
I've added many sound effects throughout, as these were made before audio tracks featuring extensive foley work.
New title cards bring a visual continuity to the series.
New end credits correct errors & give credit to the previously un-credited.
Each film now ends with a short post-credits shot that leads into the next film.

I've made extensive alterations to each film in order to give my ideal versions life.
Check out the full changelists below for the all the details on each film.

NEW!-
Introducing Version 1.1:
This is an update for all 4 films & the music video.
I've implemented some solid feedback & applied a few new changes.

This update is small, but the changes are essential. The higher quality files alone make the update worthwhile.
This thread has been updated with all the current info, but for a layout of the 1.1 updates, changes & tech specs, check out this post.

Version 1.1 is a strong step-up in every way- Video, Audio & Editing.
I really hope that everyone who has enjoyed my work will update.
To check your version, look for a V 1.1 during my opening production logo

EXTRAS:
SOUNDTRACK

This is a little collection of various pieces of score used the Frankenstein [raymix] Series, as well as a few of my favorite Frankenstein-related songs.
I've used the best available mix/master of each track. A couple tracks are stitched together from bits of the film & a few others are exclusive remixes & edits, making this the only place to get them! I've adjusted the gain to make all of the tracks sound like a cohesive album.

Peroration:

I've loved the Universal Monsters since I was very young. The films, the characters & the pop culture paraphernalia- It was all a big part of my childhood & formation. I've always been drawn to the classic spooky imagery & atmosphere. From inspiring my Halloween costumes to being the first "old films" I really studied, I have a long history with these characters.
The story of Frankenstein is a favorite of mine. From Mary Shelly's novel to various screen interpretations, it's a theme that really resonates with me.
The 4 films presented here are some of my absolute favorites. They make for an excellent series full of iconic moments, characters & dialog.

I think these versions will thrill you. They may even shock you. They might even horrify you.
So, if any of you do not care to subject your nerves to such a strain, well...
I've warned you. ; )

wait, why is Young Frankenstein edited as a sequel to the original films?

It was never even made by Universal.

wait, why is Young Frankenstein edited as a sequel to the original films?

It was never even made by Universal.
Because it obviously draws it's inspiration (as well as costumes & actual props!) from the Universal films & with some tweaking, it fits right in.
I've made Gene Wilder's Frederick Frankenstein the son of Wolf Frankenstein in Son of Frankenstein, so there's even crossover characters in my series.
Young Frankenstein is a loving parody of the first 4 Universal Frankenstein films. That's how Gene Wilder wrote it & that's how Mel Brooks directed it.

I point out right up front in the OP that it's not a Universal film. *shrug

The music video has been updated- the footage from Son of Frankenstein was in the wrong aspect ratio.
While I had it back on the operating table, I couldn't help but change up a few other things.

A FEW NEW CONTINUITY CONNECTIONS-
I thought it might be good to share some of the changes that strengthen continuity.
Things like this can get lost in the mix while reading through the long list of changes.

These are just a few examples of some of the overall changes that tie these films together tighter.

FRANKENSTEIN-
Removed the Happy-at-Home ending, leaving Henry's condition in question.
The film now ends in tragedy at the burning windmill, right where we begin BRIDE.
BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN-
Removed the Story-Telling intro, starting right from the ending of my edit of the OG.
Added a scene I cut from the OG to post-credits. It hints towards SON & features Henry's dad, who's been absent in this film.
SON OF FRANKENSTEIN-
Removed Wolf's young son being called "Peter." He's now Frederick from YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN.
YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN-
Frederick is now a cross-over character from SON.
Removed Grandpa being called "Victor." He's now Henry from the Universal films.
Replaced the painting of Gene Wilder as Grandpa with the painting of Colin Clive from SON.

There are several other series-strengthening changes all throughout, such as altered dialog helping to keep the story straight, as well as new, matching titles & credits that bring a series aesthetic.

Of course, many of my changes have nothing to do with the continuity, so check the full changelists in the OP for all the details!

Rly enjoyed watching this on my projector setup. It's not the biggest, only about the equivalent of a 100 inch setup, but it's good enough for a solo viewing. I'd post a pic but apparently I'm still new here. :-3

Welcome to the FE forums!
I think you only need to make a few posts to get access to all the features.

I'm glad you enjoyed my Frankenstein edits.
I hope you'll share some pics when ya can!

I started watching the first of these... I hate having a film experience interrupted but such is the current season (busy). Looking forward to finding a moment to finish it! Enjoyed it so far and will of course leave a review when I can.

I'm planning a new version of my Young Frankenstein edit- a shot-by-shot re-framing, matching the square aspect of the other three films.
I did this for the music video & I've been thinking about doing it for the entire film ever since.

I won't come back to this series until my current project is realized, but when I do get back to it, I'll also address any thoughts or suggestions I've gotten in the meantime. So, if ya got anything to say, lemme hear it!
