So, this one has been somewhat in the works in secret since December. @bionicbob and @LastSurvivor have been gracious enough to watch some of these and give me some critiques and pointers, so now I'm ready to share what I've completed.....so far!
The First Doctor has always intrigued me. I mean, it all started with him. His stories have commonly been described as a little hard to get through between some of the pacing issues, lack of music and cheap looking sets. Well, I can't do anything about the cheap looking sets (nor would I ever want to), but the pacing and music.....well this is what we do here!
So, with complete respect to the property and knowing that I'm not the first to ever dive into this, I have begun work on the First Doctor stories. At this point, I've only completed the first 3 stories, but what I have set out to do is to bring each story under 1 hour, unless it's a longer story and then it will be expanded to a 2 parter.
Here is what stories are completed:
Episode 1: An Unearthly Child
Episodes 2 and 3: The Daleks
Episode 4: Edge of Destruction
The music additions are era appropriate. In this case, Lost in Space. Edge of Destruction is where I got a little experimental and predominantly used music from Forbidden Planet since this is a story about the TARDIS as the somewhat enemy.
I plan to continue, but I did not want to put myself on a timeline, so I figured I'd just share what I have and leave you with the idea that there WILL be more when I can devote time to it. Right now, work has begun on a secret project that will be getting an announcement very soon.
An IFDB post will happen as soon as I gather my artwork.
Any interested travelers, I hope you will take a chance and check these out and find that you'll enjoy this new way of viewing the Doctor on his early adventures.
