For what it's worth: just a thread to list the last 10 best movies that you've rated the higher possible note on IMDB.
Or any other movie websites. Just list the last 10 movies you rated with the higher possible note (being 10/10 or 100% or 5/5, etc. you got it. I guess if the rating is based on percentage, then you can list the ones above 95% too...)
It can be old movies that you've rated recently. But only movies. No Tv series or tv-shows.

Interstellar (2014)
Rush (2013)
All Is Lost (2013)
Black Swan (2010)
King Kong (1933)
Star Wars (1977)
Star Wars: Return Of The Jedi (1983)
The Descent (2005)
Conan the Barbarian (1982)
Crossing Over (2009)

(side note: I also rated Empire Strikes Back 10/10, don't worry)

  1. My Neighbor Totoro (1988)
  2. Hausu (1977)
  3. Mandy (2018)
  4. Stalker (1979)
  5. Lost Highway (1997)
  6. Persona (1966)
  7. Cape Fear (1962)
  8. Only the Lonely (1991)
  9. Cries & Whispers (1972)
  10. The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)

I had to go back quite a way to compile this list. I rarely rate a film 10/10.

^^ I'm planning on watching 'Stalker' in the next few days. It's difficult to not go in to it with high expectations.

^ 'The Bad and the Beautiful' is so, so good. Hopefully Criterion will do a release one day. My Spanish import blu-ray of it doesn't look terrific.

I love list making so... My last 10 5* ratings on Letterboxd across about the last 6 weeks:

- Touch of Evil (1958)
- The Wind Rises (2013)
- Andrei Rublev: Theatrical Cut (1966)
- Sweet Smell of Success (1957)
- Paths of Glory (1957)
- The Cranes Are Flying (1957)
- RoboCop (1987)
- Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)
- The Terminator (1984)
- The Cranes Are Flying (1957)

(I loved 'The Cranes Are Flying' so much I watched it twice!)

Many of those happen to be re-watches of old-old favourites which I've seen many times before. If it was just mid-blowing stuff I was watching for the first time that I'd rated 5* to, then I'd have to go back to September last year for this more interesting list:

- The Wind Rises (2013)
- Andrei Rublev: Theatrical Cut (1966)
- The Cranes Are Flying (1957)
- That Thing You Do!: Extended Cut (1996)
- Uncut Gems (2019)
- Only You (2018)
- For Sama (2019)
- Wild Rose (2018)
- Boy (2010)
- Au Revoir les Enfants (1987)

Lost Highway (1997)

In a fit of snark, I declared while the end credits were rolling that that was the most effed up episode of "Quantum Leap" I'd ever seen.  Unfortunately, I am now unable to see it through any other lens.  Not that it doesn't still work.
