X-Men continuity cut part 1 (Wolverine and the X-Men )

Naturally there's one continuity error that can't be fixed, which is Halle Berry's voice in the sequels where she forgot her character was of African origin

LOL :)

thanks for taking the time to watch / review the edit omaru1982

Congratulations! I'll have to wait to watch til after I finish my own X-Men edit, but rest assured, I will watch this! :)

Just finished watching this. Actually, I’m of the opinion that after the first X-Men movie, they started to get worse, and never recovered. I liked the first one, but the second one was overblown and spent too much time on secondary characters, and had a stupid ending (Why couldn’t Jean control the plane from INSIDE the plane?), the third one was a mess, Wolverine was awful and cheesy, and First Class violated continuity left and right and was equally as cheesy (in my opinion). I’ll try not to let my opinion of the other films color this review though.

Story Editing:

The idea of editing the X-Men films so they actually fit with each other is a great idea, and the cuts really work. I never felt like any information was missing. I liked the addition of the bar scene as an opener, however, I felt that the inclusion of the footage during the credits gave away too much. Wolverine’s story, to me, works much better as a mystery for the first film. This ruins the mystery. Other than that, no complaints story wise.

Score: 8 out of 10

Video Editing:

No problems here that I noticed. I watched the AVI version. I did not download the DVD.

Score: 10 out of 10

Audio Editing:

Your audio transitions were done very well, especially where you removed Kitty Pride. Had I not known about that from the original, I wouldn’t have even noticed. There was only one transition problem I saw, and that was during the school montage. The music changes volume suddenly when Bobby introduces himself. Also, when the professor says, “I’ll make a deal with you Logan.” it seemed a little abrupt. Minor gripes, I know.
Other than the transitions, there is a problem, at least in the AVI (not sure about the DVD), with the entire audio track being higher pitched than in the original film. All the voices are slightly higher pitched than they should be and the music is in a different key. Maybe a problem when it was rendered?

Score: 7 out of 10

A good attempt to make the X-Men films actually fit with each other.

Final Score: 8 out of 10

My guess is that this is a PAL edit and you are used to NTSC.

Is that what causes that? Patrick Stewart just doesn't sound right without his whiskey and cigarettes voice. I liked the edit, that just bugged me is all. ;-)

would love to see this (even though i reckon singer is already go back on his word an include last stand in the continuity for days of future past). However the links of fanedit.info offline. Any chance of a reupload?

Leeroy like to keep his releases private and chose not to upload to Info. You can send him a polite PM and see if he responds.

Am I right in saying that watching this fix replaces X-men (1), and removes Origins-Wolverine from the series play-list?

(I mean, if you watch this and the fixed X-men 2, you can watch this with the rest of the series with few continuity errors (and remove Origins-Wolverine)

i see it as this, if you take x-men origins as a direct prequel to the original trilogy then the continuity errors are minimal if not any. it's only when first class came out then errors within the story came apparent for example emma forst being in two different time periods or charles stating he met eric at 17.

this edit (bare in mind neither x-men dofp nor the wolverine were out at the time) lets you watch first class along with these fanedits without there being to many errors in continuity.

x-men origns was used only in making a short edit that gives some background to the wolverines character, but removes the team x sequence, deadpool / wade among other things. it ends pretty much when kayla is killed and uses a deleted scene from x3 when logan re-visit the bar were we see him for the first time in x-men
