Not sure if this is the right section, but I have a question. What format do you prefer to download? An image file (.iso,.img, etc) or just the loose VOB files?

And why do you prefer that format?

I prefer vob viles, because it gives me the chance to add custom cover art.

Yeah, I prefer VOBs so I can shrink them or just do any tinkering I need to do.

But in order to shrink them, don't you need a image file for that?

i prefer vob. My external drive is formatted for fat32 (so i can use on windows and mac) but it has a filesize limitation of 4gb. So I cannot transfer a dvd image larger than 4gb to my external drive. Usually if i get an iso file the first things i do is bust it down to the basic vob files.

maybe i'm misunderstanding the question, but isn't an image file (iso/dmg/img) really just a container for files, like a virtual drive? the image would contain the video_ts directory and vob files within that like any other dvd.

personally i prefer compressed xvid/divx/h264 for torrents. ;)

These would be cool for previewing fanedits as the small size makes them much easier to DL.

You have understood the question correctly. ;)
I was just interested if people prefer that 'container' or just the loose files.

It doesn't matter to me at all. Both are just as easy to burn in Nero.

everyone will prefer VOB files

that way if someone has the DVD they can help torrent it

or if they want to add stuff to the DVD they can do so (MUCH easier)
