I only work with mpeg-2 files, and say I want to use a video filter in V. Dub Mod, I'll import the mpeg and do my thang, but once I export as an avi, the results are terrible. Can anyone shed some light on this subject?

only thing i can think of is check your compression settings.

I never export to avi. I always export via frameserver to mpeg. As for avi you migth want to try out a lossless codec like lagarith or huffyuff or msu

It seems everytime you see the name Lace & Whiskey Fan on this board, you're going to see boon23 right under it, You'd make a great tour guide boon! Anyways, I would much rather export to mpeg instead, I didn't know I could.
Okay, I played around with the frameserver stuff but I can't figure it out. How would I go by getting an mpeg out of it?

Okay, I guess my question is how to import the mpeg 2 file, do the filters, then export it as an mpeg 2 instead of an avi. I don't really understand frameserving.

to export as an mpeg-2 with vdub, you have to understand frameserving, because it is the only way to do that.
to import an mpeg-2, either use and avs script or use "virtualdub mpeg-2"
