So I've been on a bit of monster/dinosaur kick lately. Jurassic Park is one of my all time favorite movies, but its sequels vary wildly in quality. I was curious and wanted to ask everyone else: what are the best Jurassic Park/Jurassic World fan edits?

Hmm, I’ve never even considered an edit of this franchise. For me, the first half of JP is amazing and everything since—including the conclusion of JP—is a cheap monster movie and not at all what I want from the franchise. If a JP edit exists that is able to play up the tension and drama of the concept without the cheap horror movie tricks and allow the movie to conclude without a nonsensical “hero shot,” I’d be all for it. To date I’m unaware.

Edit: I’m sorry that reads so snarky. It’s not my intention. I think JP is great for its sense of wonder and its focus on the moral considerations and consequences of scientific progress. To me, it is two movies and I’m not such a fan of the monster movie half. But obviously that is the direction the franchise has felt most audiences want.

I'd never think anyone would ever want to remove the hero shot in the first film. I think I need a drink.

I'm a strong disliker of JP, and now that you mention it, I suppose it really is the second half that's the problem. Although I think my biggest gripe was the obnoxious kids, the little girl being some genius hacker and all that. There's other problems too, as you mentiond. I'd like to read the book sometime, which I've heard leans more into the science elements.

ANYWAYS, @Malthus has an edit of Jurassic World, I haven't seen it yet but the editor generally delivers great stuff.
There's also @jobwillins who made an edit combining the first two World movies, again I haven't seen it but the editor makes great stuff.

I read the book a while back and I highly recommend it. It delivers a totally different experience than the movie and I loved it.
