Voting Rules

1) Active FE forum members may vote when they have been registered for more than one month before Nominations open today and have a minimum of 5 posts. FE's software doesn't remove ineligible voters from the poll, this is done by FE moderators, so poll results may appear different from the official score. Before you vote, please ensure you meet the criteria!

2) You may vote once in every category. You may not vote for yourself or your own work.

3) FEOTY voting polls will run for eight weeks, until 18 June.

4) In case of a tie, the winner will be the edit that got the most nominations for entry. In case of FEOTMs that are automatically entered, the number of votes as FEOTM count as nominations.

5) Good sportsmanship:

a) If you have a fanedit entered in a category, you may want to shout this from the rooftops. That's okay. Encouraged even! Just take care that you encourage others to vote for the category, don't solicit votes specifically for your edit. For example, this is good: "My Something_Amazing edit is one of the entries for FEOTY! Please remember to vote for the edit you like best." While this goes too far: "My Something_Amazing edit is up for FEOTY! Go vote for my edit!" Enthusiasm that crosses into the grey area of "is it or isn't it" will be evaluated by FE moderators on a case by case basis.

b) In the event of vote manipulation, such as soliciting votes or voting for yourself, the entry will be disqualified.

With this many entries, we hit the limit of the number of images that can fit inside one post. Here then, are the remaining images (these entries are included in the first post, this second post is solely for your visual benefit of putting the posters with these edits).

Some edits seem to capture the zeitgeist whereas others sometimes may slip through the cracks...I kinda feel like the Captain Marvel edit by @tremault might be one of the latter. I'd urge everyone to try to check it out before voting if they somehow missed it!

I encourage everyone to check out ALL of the edits before voting.

I agree that some edits seem to capture the defining spirit or mood of a particular moment as shown by popular opinion...and conversely, some great edits get overlooked for that very reason. It's the nature of the game. It happens with the original movies, as well.

However, you can't deny genius, enlightenment, innovation or defining moments in anything. That's when the light shines bright. You just hope that someone cares enough to notice.

Almost every edit is a thoughtful work of art that displays the artist's intention and love for what they do. I always see that.

i've not seen a bunch of these or the originals. I've gotta watch ZS Justice League, the Eastrail films, and Phase IV so I can check out the fanedits (as I usually always watch the original first), as all three of those sound like great edits.

Clear as glass, perhaps? ;)

I don't know: looking at the number of FEOTM votes the edits got in 2021, you'd expect Bilbo is in with a chance.
Plus, in previous years we saw many editors vote in the final week (when they can't delay voting any longer).
In short: anything can happen in this final month of voting!

You could speculate any amount of eventualities. Split Unbreakable Glass should win. The edit (or editor) showed us just how far we could go with an edit. And that we could be surprised...again. There is a good chance that M.Night himself will be watching Split Unbreakable Glass. The edit not only pushes the boundaries of what can be done with the source material but pushes the boundaries of how fanediting is viewed as a whole by the world outside of our forum.

#staff
Others may agree or disagree and can do so simply by voting. You've clearly made it known that you thoroughly enjoy Wraith's edit, but this thread is neither the place to defend or promote it. Community members should simply vote and watch and refrain from any form of promoting or persuading as it could be seen as seeking votes, which would violate the FEOTY and FEOTM rules.

Obviously, qualified members can vote for whomever they choose. Although promoting an edit was not my intent, I can see how my post can be viewed that way. I should have considered the myriad of ways that my words could be misunderstood. There are many great edits in the poll. For the record, I thoroughly enjoyed most of the edits that I viewed last year. I'm sorry if I offended anyone, you are all award winners, as far as I'm concerned. 😁
