Years ago, I downloaded a program (I forget the name, but it was a free trial) that allowed me to input a sample of someone's voice and add my own recorded message, and it would convert my message to be spoken in the other person's voice. For example, I recorded a message praising myself, inputted a sample of my friend's voice, and got to hear "him" praising me. Anyway, is there any good, free (or cheap) program out there right now that will do this? I figure it'd be very useful for fan-editing, if you want to change a character's lines or add narration or whatever.

If anyone knows of this program, speak now. This would be teh awesomest thing.

Mr. T, Yoda, Darth Vader, Christopher Walken, the potential is endless, but this sounds too good to be true, i mean we haven't even put a man on the moon yet...

Nor even found a lotion to properly regrow hair... :-(

I remember using a voice conversion method I had made myself. It used a common audio tool (can't rember what it's called now). You input a sound file, containing an endless loop of the desired voice sayin ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, or ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. You then bring in the audio of the voice you want to change and it makes sound waves matching the original voicing using the wave of the desired voice.

Mannnn, that is a million dollar idea right there! Would be an awesome phone app as well as fanediting tool.

In the meantime, can anybody do a good Leonard Nemoy impersonation?

I know this is an old thread, but very interesting. Might it be this one here? http://www.voiceconverter.net/

Just skip the video and go down to the audio samples, the first one is the voice match from english to spanish and going from a woman's voice (Betty Boop song) to a man's voice :twitch: There are some sound artifacts here and there, but it's still pretty darn good (especially for $30 bucks! It has a free trial + on sale). I'm guessing they picked two vocal extremes to show off what it can do - so who knows, it might sound even better if you're imitating conversational speech of same gender & language.
Anyone wanna try it out and post some samples? :pop2:
(I'd totally do it right now, but I'm beat and have to wake up early tomorrow).
