If you pre-order you are entered into a raffle to get your likeness put into the game and die a horrible death in Ep 4 and then come back as a Zombie, 4 other lucky runners up will be made into Zombies.
 
Yes they directly applied the 2D concept art to the 3D models and liked the effect so much they kept it.
