trouble making multiple cuts

I'm using Womble for the first time and was wondering if this is normal. After I split a clip the program won't let me split it again in a different spot. Every other program I've used let's you split the clip limitless times but Womble seems like it has a limit of 1?

If needed I could try to explain clearer.
 
when you say clip,do you mean cut(with the scissors)if so,you can make alot of cuts,alot of us here use Womble,although I am a beginner I do know you can make alot more than 1 cut,I have made several in my Halloween Origin of Evil and my Chuck and Larry Extended Edits.
 
When you make a cut with the scissors, make sure you click and empty spot on the timeline to de-select the clip you just split, then select the part you want to cut further.
