Who's Next-The Who

It's my favourite Who album (one the best ever rock records) but 'My Wife' is a duff track that I skip everytime. So it gets marked down for that.

Tommy-The Who
Exile on Main Street-Rolling Stones
White Album-The Beatles

^ All classics.

Live From Folsom Prison-Johnny Cash

I'm more of a San Quentin man.

Thank you! Now I know I'm not the only person who likes good old seventies rock. Nirvana transcends categorization as do The Doors. I could have put some Hank Williams, Johnny Horton, Roy Clark and Elvis Presley in to round things out real nice. All are legendary to me.

As far as Johnny Cash, my favorite song is Ring of Fire but Folsom is so raw...it's just amazing. San Quentin is very good, as well.

Fun thread. Always changing for me but I'd probably go with

1. Quadrophenia by The Who
2. The Joshua Tree by U2
3. A New World Record by ELO
4. What's Going On by Marvin Gaye
5. Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd

Other mentions would be a few other U2 records, the Beatles's Abbey Road, Let's Dance by Bowie, Brothers by The Black Keys, Speaking in Tongues by Talking Heads, Murmur by REM, and a bunch of others.

Speaking in Tongues by Talking Heads

Yes and yes. Two nine track albums where the 9th track is the best one 'Inner City Blues (Make Me Wanna Holler)' and 'This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody)'.

I forgot to include Screamadelica by Primal Scream. A perfect album.

Plus mentioning PS is a good excuse to re-post this clip off them being interviewed live pre-watershed at Glastonbury 2005. Dropping f-bombs, joking about stabbing hippies, mentioning smack and vibrators and singing "hey, hey, we're the junkies" etc. You can see interviewer Colin is loving it at first but his face slowly turns to horror and you can just hear Mani laughing his head off and saying "look at his coupon" (slang for face). I remember watching this live and laughing my head off, it would have gone viral these days:
