TMPGENC's built in AC3 encoder?

Is it best to use TMpgEnc's AC3 encoder to encode files. I'm using debugmode frameserver and converting to MPEG 2. MMy sound choices are LPCM and ac3. How's the built in ac3? Is it worth it or should I just encode as pcm and use my standalone audio transcoder to cinvert to ac3?

Thanks for the help.
