That would be a very welcome fanedit. It's regarded as a classic and own it (as part of Hepburn boxset) but have never watched it because of the parts you refer to looking alarming.

Thanks for asking. A Netflix subscription does not count as owning the source, neither does an Amazon subscription. Purchasing digital content from Amazon does count. They key word is "subscription", you are paying to have access to their content but you don't actually own it. You'll have to wait and see if they release it to DVD/blu-ray at some point. They usually do for the more popular shows.
