Attempting some X-stuff.  Hope I survive the experience.

Y'know, I think I've used more white-out in the past week than I have throughout my entire life before this point. And Brainiac really was a bitch to draw — Martha's face, too.

I’m not too happy with the way the original X-Men at the top turned out, nor the “frame” I tried to force there to separate them.

Here are miscellaneous photos I’ve taken recently.

And here are some short video clips I shot, mostly just practicing my focus-pulling.

I shot in RAW for the first time today, and tried color grading the image afterward.  So, I’m obviously brand new to all this, but I’m pretty okay with how it turned out.

I don't think I succeeded in conveying what is going on in this image.

I'm curious to learn the origin of this drawing. I remember the Mac computers at the elementary schools I attended back in the '90s had this image as a piece of clip art (minus the blotchy background).

I drew this yesterday. I hadn't drawn anything in a while.

Edit: fixed because it was sideways.

Yul Brynner's decapitated head impaled on a bonsai tree ... I'd be lying if I said that ain't creative.

Is that who's face it is? I didn't use any sort of reference, I just started drawing, the face took its shape as it went, it just came to me. I was wondering who the face could possibly be, and looking at pictures you may be right.

That happened to me once.

I own 11x14 posters of that painting and a few dozen others. I got them by buying a bunch of vintage science fiction calendars published by Asgard Press. Each calendar has at least 12 pages (some more) and each page is a full 11x14 print of a vintage science fiction pulp cover painting on high-quality thick paper stock. The calendars are designed so that you can remove and use each poster on its own if you so wish (there are no holes are other flaws in the posters themselves; the calendars are designed to work perfectly as poster collections, with usage as an actual calendar being optional).

In case you're interested, I bought them here:

Here are a few similar pulp science fiction paintings (in spoiler tags so as not to take up too much space in the thread):
