It seems Netflix are showing the US theatrcial version of Luc Besson's The Big Blue in HD and OAR

the only offically released editions of this rare cut are the 4X3 VHS and LD

i haven't got the means of capturing this version (since i'm in the UK) but i do have the full Bill Conti score

Wasn't the original R1 release of this the theatrical?

nope. that was the 168 min director's cut with the original Eric Serra score.
the only offically released versions are the 168 min director's cut, the 132 min French Theatrical cut and the 118 min European Theatrcial Cut all with the Eric Serra score

Ah. Hope it gets capped then. Maybe ask over in the preserv section.

That's where this thread is...

Oh, hi. Thanks for paying attention to my surroundings for me.

It's what I'm not paid for. ;)

If you mean "can anyone capture this?", I technically could, as I have netflix. However, I have no idea how to capture a streaming netflix broadcast. If anyone can show me a way...

same. I don't have netflix, but i have friends/family that do. any guides on how to do this?

found this from a guy that can rip from netflix

As my description says, I use FRAPS to rip it, which before you do you have to let FRAPS show you how many frames its running on. Then I use AIMERSOFT to join the files together and then Encode them. This combination works great as per my Waxwork rip and this.

some more details and/or a link to the original post would be helplful

Whenever I've used FRAPS before the filesize has been absolutely horrendous* unitil I've converted it to something a bit more sensible.

*As in lagreth lossless avi horrendous.

the post is at cinemageddon but i'm unsure if i can post the link due to t&C's since it's a filesharing website

For this movie yes but bigrob was 'not' linking to a forum post that was discussing how to cap a netflix stream

btw rob are you the robot or the hacker?

i do have some material to accompany this release like the full Bill Conti score and various other bits and peices

is it just screen capture with FRAPS? Is that how people are doing it? and if so, is there an advantage of FRAPS over something like Camtasia?
