Taking Paul, John, George and Ringo's last public performance together from January 30th, 1969 from Peter Jackson's The Beatles: Get Back - Part 3, and presenting it as it's own concert film.
As the concert is filmed from several different angles, most of the performance is shown from these multiple angles at once, and often has on-the-street interviews with members of the public. The cops that come to stop the concert also talk a whole lot.
This edit remove all of the interviews, and cops talking, to keep the focus on The Beatles and their performance. Pretty much all the audio has been replaced with the Rooftop Performance live album, as the film audio has added a lot of ambiance and foley, and dialogue from the interviews obviously. Also the album mix is also just a lot nicer and robust.
CHANGES
- added 16mm film grain over the whole thing, as the footage restoration was over-processed and very waxy, this helps make it look a little more natural and 60s
- added new intro text introducing the performance
- added title card
- added new date card "30th January, 1969"
- trimmed film crew getting read
- cut "Get Back" false start (original cut took part of a later take and showed it right at the start)
- cut all man-on-the-street interviews
- reframed multi-cam shots to remove the interviews
- cut all police dialogue
- reframed multi-cam shots to remove cops talking and their subtitles
- removed one random shot of Linda McCartney that's added to the Beatles ending the set (made the album mix out of sync, and is half a second for some reason)
- added title card at the end
- added new credits sequence, playing over a clip from Part 1 of the doco
TRT: 42:43
Here's take 2 of Get Back, which has some of the most removed footage of all the songs featured. Mostly the man-on-the-street interview stuff.
