Some of the critics of the FanEdit website have claimed that it is merely a gathering place for hobbyists. Wraith has effectively disproved that criticism with this single movie. The Alamo - Roadshow Version is a historical preservation of the film in its entirety, including all of the footage that was wilfully destroyed by the short-sighted executives and film editors in Hollywood. Incredibly, the [subjective] entertainment value of this film is surpassed by the [objective] historical value to cinema as an artform. Wraith has done a service to Western culture and, simultaneously, corrected the criminal error that was made decades ago when the original 70mm film was copied to VHS tape and Laserdisc... and then discarded. The narrative of the film is expanded and "fleshed out" to give a far greater exploration of the characters and the subtle aspects of their personalities, and the interpersonal dynamics between the people involved, not to mention the Alamo itself and its place in the history of the United States. On behalf of myself and the future viewers of this film... thank you Wraith, for saving a part of our cherished past.
