Surround to 3D Audio Conversion

I think 3D audio will be the future of films but right now the tools aren't quite there yet.

I tried converting a 7.1 surround file into 3D audio using DearVR. While it does give a defined spatial effect it ruins the source audio with weird noise reduction and bass reduction as well. Has anyone tried this using other software?
 
Ok so after some research, I think I answered my own question here. The software, Binauralizer Studio, can perform a good Surround to 3D Audio conversion. Link below:
