Lucas has always said Stars Wars was designed for kids. That’s all well and good but it doesn’t need to be showdown, and that’s what I feel SW has devolved to. The prequels were a weird hybrid that didn’t work, the sequels tried to reign it in, and the tv shows… well I don’t know what the hell they were trying to do. Mandalorian is watchable but. It good, Boba Fett is terrible, and Obi-wan was somewhere in the middle. All three felt like cheap fan films. It’s nice to have something more adult friendly with Andor, simply the best SW show and, quite possibly, best SW since the OT.
My only concern is that while critically Andor is high up there in ratings, the people who liked Mandalorian, Boba Fett, and Obi-Wan thought Andor was too slow and boring. Will Disney make changes to appease those fans, or will they stay the course for those of us who want something more mature? Fingers crossed because Andor has reinvigorated my interest in SW.
