15 steps to creating a spanning spine cover set.

1 create document measuring the size of case you're going to make.

2 resize image for adding amount of spines, eg if the set is 5 x 1 inch cases add 4 inches to the end of the image add guides from 13cm for 1 inch cases add a guide every 1 inch after that for as many sets as needed.

3 now make the image up as you see it so the back for the 1st cover & the spines & the front for the last cover.

4 you should end up with something like this.

5 now start to make layer sets for each case eg series 1, series 2, series 3 etc.

6 now create layer sets for the fronts & backs (duplicating & editing the first ones you created is the best way to have some consistency).

7 you should now have something like this.

8 now align the fronts & backs to where the spines would have them.

9 now cut the spines & paste into there set eg series 2 etc.

10 you should now have something like this.

11 you should now be able to simply turn on and of the series you want like this.

12 make guides from the start and end of document in 1 inch sections so you know where images start & finish.

13 Save This Project, Turn on Series 1 & background, flatten image, copy the area the case would be for.

14 open new document paste series 1 into this & save this file.

15 repeat step 14 for series 2,3,4,5 etc.

hope this makes sense tried to explain as much as possible, it's really easy once you know what your doing and you get faster each time you make another set.
