I'll start with The Inside - an FBI team searching for serial killers, lead characters by Peter Coyote and Rachel Nichols.

Another one is Dark Skies - very similar to Taken, but with actual tension.

The Good Guys, Firefly, Alien Nation, Freaks and Geeks, Undeclared, Dead Like Me, The Critic, Mission Hill, Greg the Bunny...and even though they each had multiple seasons; Veronica Mars, Arrested Development, and My Name is Earl. At least seven Fox shows there, no surprise.

The Spectacular Spider-Man. 2 awesome seasons of the best Spider-Man Cartoon Ever. It ended waaaaaay too soon.
Also Sarah-Connor Chronicles was a show i was sad to see go that soon. Firefly is a no-brainer of course. Dollhouse also. Jericho was also a show that died too early. Live action Tick was something i was digging and i would have liked more episodes from.

Carnivale. +1 for Dark Skies I really dug that show.

And to save me posting in this thread again in six months time, Breaking Bad.

Samurai Jack. That show never got a proper conclusion. Maybe now that Hotel Transylvania has made a profit and if Genndy Tartokovsky can do the same for his cgi Popeye movie that will change.

Alcatraz (I know it had it's critics but I really dug the concept)

The River (See above)

I really thought that Veronica Mars' concept of putting her in the FBI could have been great, and I thought it stopped really abrupt as well. I think My Name Is Earl got a little old in the end, and actually think Raising Hope is way funnier.

Yeah, it got sooo much more interesting in the second season what with the evolution of Summer Glau's character.

Wow I didn't even know alcatraz had been canned...

Okay three that haven't been mentioned yet.

Traveler: it wasn't the best show ever but it was enjoyable enough to warrant a couple of seasons. Two college friends framed for the bombing of a museum decide to go 'off the grid'

Daybreak: Like Groundhog day but without the humour, Taye Digs found himself waking up every morning framed for the murder of someone and season 1 ended with him clearing his name but there was enough plot to build around a second seasons... besides this was the first show I ever saw Moon Bloodgood in, and the second thing I saw with Adam Baldwin in to face cancellation, I wondered if he was going to keep making duds but shortly after he landed Chuck.

Tru Calling: Again it had a fomulaic plot, Tru goes through her day with a few events happening, then a body turns up at the morgue and True has her power to go back in time to prcent their murder, reliving her day just like Taye Diggs (bit only once over) in which case we normally see her adjusting the few other happenings of the day to her or someone elses benefit, like her gambling brother. I just thought it was a nice variation on the quantum leap/early edition type shows.

Edit: The Flash, with another season at least they might've gotten a bigger budget for a few more special effects, as far as superhero series go, I think it was actually one of the better ones... Besides Mark Hamill as the Trickster = Win!

Live- action The Tick - love this show, but wonder how many concepts it really had left in it.

Carnivale - would have loved to see the other two volumes/four seasons, but think its ended was just fine.

The Inside - a show that perfectly exemplifies everything that's wrong with murder-porn TV. The pilot did have a good look, though, albeit a near-nihilistic one.

Jericho - This show was fucking awesome but did not get the chance it deserved to be all it could be. They tried cancelling after season 1 but the fans said no. At least with the 7 episode second season the show got some closure

Pushing Daisies and Dead Like Me - I didn't discover these until they were on DVD.

The Lone Gunmen - Okay, so not the greatest show, but it was still pretty darn entertaining. And the series ended on a cliffhanger. Thankfully they didn't leave us completely hanging, as they aired the second part as an episode of The X-Files the following season.

Mental - A House M.D. clone but dealing with mental health, and the main doctor wasn't an asshole. This one aired during the summer of 2009 on FOX, which I'm sure isn't the best time to debut new scripted programs.

GCB - Mid-season replacement show on ABC that only ran for 10 episodes last season. It wasn't cancelled until after the season ended, but it wasn't exactly given the best time slot either. It aired Sunday nights at 10 after Desperate Housewives. They must have had some fate in the show though because after just a few episodes had aired they had already announced that the show would be released to DVD. The show had been protested by One Million Moms, who claimed that the show was making a mockery of God or some such bullshit, and they claimed responsibility for its cancellation.

Made In Jersey - Can't say I loved this show because it only aired two episodes before it was cancelled but I thought it was a decent enough show that had promise, if only it was given a decent chance. Sure the ratings were very low, but that's to be expected when you debut a new show on Friday nights at 9.

+1 for Galactica. Loved the final episode, as it set it up nicely for a good second series. It was unfortunate that we got Galactica 80 instead. That show had a lot of promise, but just ended up being bullshit, bar a few good episodes (The return of Starbuck and the first 2 episodes).

I want to add Lie To Me to the list. Me and the missus have only just started watching it on Universal Channel, and we love it. It's a shame that it didn't get picked up for a forth series.

While most people didn't seem to care for it, I really enjoyed the U.S. version of Life on Mars.

I want to add Rob to the list. I'm sure I'm the only here who watched this show but it was a CBS sitcom starring Rob Schneider that ran from January to March 2012. It only ran for 8 episodes, but that's all that was ordered.
