I saw Se7en and really loved it, so I decided to add back a few of the deleted scenes that brought some more depth to the characters and story, specifically Somerset and his motivations for retiring in the new opening and his extended conversation with Tracey.

ADDITIONS:
- Reinserted deleted opening with the final credits sequence, this sequence used footage from later in the film, so it was removed there and put here. The new opening also explains the flower tile that is seen as Sumerset gets ready and the knife.
- Extended car ride in from the gluttony murder
- Removed Sumerset's cab ride (as it was now used in the opening) and replaced it with a homeless man asking for change before Somerset enters the library
- Extended scene of Tracey and Somerset talking before dinner, as he explains what the tile represents
- Extended sequence prior to the raid on Victor's place (Sloth) at the police station and the car ride in
- Extended scene at the Pride murder with some extra gore

All the new scenes have been colour corrected and sharpened so that they can look better next to HD footage.  The SD footage has been crossfaded in almost all scenes to try and create a seemless transition between the deleted footage and the final film.

Special thanks to Adabisi for creating his original EE about a decade ago

I love it! Happy to see this updated in HD.

Wow this is awesome, a great movie made even better? Thank you very much

Se7en is one of my all-time favourite films, period. I'd love to see this! ;)

Review posted at IFDB below. I'd really love to see the editor take another shot at this:

I was really excited for this edit because the almost identical one I made over a decade ago would be great with an HD upgrade. I was glad to see Bobson Dugnutt took the reigns and I'd love to recommend this as a replacement for my original edit, but there are some serious technical issues with this edit that prevent me from doing so.

First, the edit looks great is HD and is a big improvement over the SD edit. Overall, this edit looks much better. But an issue arises when the deleted scenes are inserted. There's an obvious, but acceptable, drop in quality as the deleted scenes are in SD. But, as another reviewer mentioned, there are some serious technical issues with the frame rates. There obvious ghosting and jagged lines in all the inserted scenes that also extends into the original scenes. This really should have been addressed before it was released.

The second issue is with the audio. The editor has released this with a 5.1 surround mix, but it's really just an extended stereo mix. In a proper 5.1 mix, dialogue should be isolated to the centre channel while other sounds should occupy the front and rear channels. But on this mix, dialogue can be heard through all 5 channels, including rears. The impact of the proper 5.1 mix is completely lost with this edit. Again, this is something that should have been addressed before it was released.

As it stands now, I can't recommend this edit. If the editor was to go back and correct the technical issues, I'd be happy to recommend this as a replacement to my dusty old SE7EN Extended Edition

In that case I sincerely hope the technical issues are remedied because I'd love to see this :)
