Pop-up Blu-ray Menus

So, the time has come to start making Blu-ray discs. I've pretty much cracked how to do most of the stuff I want to, except one thing: pop-up menus on the discs. There are two things I want to do:

Primarily, on the main menu, I want to have one background video playing and when options are selected, like a retail disc, have the menu options open up over that.

Secondly, and this is not a necessity, I'd like to have something that can pop up during playback to access features or a playback timeline to see time remaining. Not sure how I'd want to implement that, but knowing how to do it would anyways would be grand.

Pop-ups on menus are not possible with Architect. See discussion here for some alternatives.
