So I started a different approach. I will record each line individually and then place it immediately and mix it, and then record every single line. This to make the process a bit more effective. I now recorded everything at once, which just makes it a hassle to find the right take etc for each line lol. (Because I can't just take the best sounding take, I have to find the best sounding take AND the one that matches the original timing best.

Someone asked for a comparison so here are the first two lines completely mixed in:

Ya know, since there's such a large demand for the movie with the unused tracks, if you end up not using the official tracks, you should take advantage of all the effort you put into removing the licensed songs and seize the gap in the market and release both a version with your improved voice acting and music choices, as well as one that doesn't change anything except using the original unused songs. That's guaranteed money right there! (Except obviously you wouldn't making money off of it, ya know what I mean)

Just a fyi: this is exactly what i did. Track 1 has all the original song and track 2 has my version of the kart ride. If anyone wants it give me a PM.

I took some people's advice to heart and replaced my version of the kart section with an orchestrated version that's similar. This was very hard to add to the scene, because the original musical piece keeps changing rhythm lol. That said I now definitely prefer this to Nintendo's own OST (which is also optional in the edit), which imo is a bit too chaotic trying to cram an entirely of Donkey Kong soundtracks in 1 minute.

I particarly like how every time the song hits a beat it matches to what happens on screen.

@MoviesGamesMusic made a great suggestion so I will make a slight tweak to the scene where Luigi first meets the dog. Will take a few days to upload, but I always adore feedback that I completely agree with. (Even I can't see it all lol)

So I just learned something new about Premiere Pro and now found out I didn't quite use the right settings for LFE for áll my edits. It's not too noticeable but for Mario, TDK and TDKR I can still fix this. I made backups for these three so I can easily replace audio. Basically some of the LFE track spilled over on the other channels which causes the channels to not sound optimal. So these will be updated. I'll have to live with all the other edits being how there are now since I don't want to have to completely rework every audio track from scratch on all my edits lol.

I honestly don't think anyone really will notice it except for the people will the truly epic sound systems. I took this opportuntity to add jungle and monkey background noises to the DK kart section and it's pretty awesome lol. If you're curious you can check the link from last post.

Updated the listing to include the voice over in the changelist, so the edit is currently not on IFDB untill its approved again

Every single Cranky line is on point now. I'm satisfied with the result! I made the VO with my own song and the original OST for those who prefer that.

To be fair at least for DK his voice works. His stupid laugh actually fits. I'd still have preferred a dozen different voice actors though. Terry Crews maybe lol that would be interesting.

At 0:43 the brightness randomly changes. What happened there?

I've not seen the original, but it's novel to have re-voiced a character. Is it you doing the voice? The room acoustics and syncing in this clip give it away a little, but it overall comes across pretty well! If I hadn't gone in with that context, I don't know if I would have picked up on it.

Ah that's Vimeo trying to handle HDR. Same happens to me, but I guarantee it's not in the edit itself. I just watched it with a few people and none of them noticed, unless you lister really closely. I agree that it's not quite perfect but it's as good I could have gotten it. That said I did tweak it ever so slightly since then.

Why do I hear no voices in this besides Peach's first line? Cranky's mouth moves, but all I hear is the background music.
