Sound is absolutely subjective. That's why practically 90% of people will agree Mario says "So long, gay Bowser", even though it was never the intent.
A quick Google search debunks this line of thought. He certainly says King Bowser.
He definitely doesn't. If Charles Martinet had said he was trying to say "So long-a Bowser" (Mario often does add vowels on the end of words), everyone would've believe him, but "So long King-a Bowser" sounds nothing like what he actually said, and doesn't even match the number of syllables. I'm still convinced he was actually trying to say "So long-a Bowser".
The genesis of this has most likely come from insensitive click bait videos on social media. While I'm hoping that this was a sincere attempt to understand the line, the optics and interpretation of your post can easily be viewed as insensitive toward a population of our community members.
Fanedit.org is a place where all should feel welcome. Please, everyone, let's refrain from sensationalizing sexual orientation or any other defining characteristic of another human being in our community. Thanks
Please, please, please lift your head out of the sand. No one has ever been offended by "So long, gay Bowser". It's a well known joke that everyone laughs along with.
That's the last I'll say on the topic, as it's best to move on from it, but there's no way I couldn't respond to this nonsensical post. This is finding trouble where there is none.
I'm gonna get tempbanned for talking back to a mod after "drop the topic", aren't I? Please don't do that.
