For all of you that use Photoshop, I have a question... I have really been satisfied with my older version of Adobe Photoshop (6.0), and have really not been urged to upgrade to a newer version. The only reason I am now considering upgrading, is that is seems that there are many many brushes that are not compatible with older versions. Only CS.

So is there anyone out there who was running an older version, and has upgraded? what do you think?

Well I'm using CS3 now and I'm happier than ever.

i have a copy of elements I was going to check out. It seemed too cookie cutter. I was considering CS3, but wanted some more feedback from people who have made the switch

I'm still using 7.0. I'm a-scared to know what I'm missing out on. I'm also hesitant to upgrade my programs ever since that whole Nero 7 thing happened.

CS3 is great, but we had weird problems with CS2 so try to avoid that.

I used 7 for a year or so, then CS2 for 2+ years and now, for about 3 months, CS3. 7 is imho good enough if you don't want to throw out too much money, however, CS2 had some nifty features and worked perfectly for me for all it's running time.

there were some known bugs that our graphics department ran into at work with CS2 that were NOT going to be fixed until CS3 came out (and we upgraded and solved those errors).

i don't remember what exactly they were since i never used them, sorry.

but with the upgrade to CS3 they (3 of them) like it much much more.

Thanks to Google's work on the Wine project, Photoshop CS2 works on Linux.

I've always used Photoshop 7.0. Although there are some very neat features for CS2 and CS3, it's not staggeringly more impressive to make me want to switch. I will eventually get CS3, or CS4 if that comes out before I get CS3, but I think 7 is fantastic and works exactly how you need it to. Most brushes are 7 compatible on places like Deviant Art, and you can request for brushes that aren't compatible to be converted to photoshop 7 file brushes if you want.

I made the jump from CS directly to CS3, and the picture healing tools are greatly improved. I never used CS2, but IMO it was well worth it to go from CS to CS3.

Definitely let us know. I'm at 7.0 right now, and I don't want to bother/pay for an upgrade unless it's WELL worth it.

Been using CS2 for a good while now and only very recently (matter of weeks) giving Stonehenge a try. CS2 had a problem with some fonts and really enjoyed crashing, Stonehenge hasn't crashed yet but it's early days.

I just saw that photoshop has a CS4 now. After many years (of happy photoshopping) I finally upgraded from 6 to CS3. And I absolutely love the new additions. Anyone out there try CS4 yet? I can't imagine its terribly different than CS3, but I would be curious to hear some opinions and comments on it?

Hi all, I'm new to this, and im looking into purchasing Adobe Photoshop. Its seems that CS3 is the one that is always talked about. But apparently they are up to CS5. Some people just say "always go with the latest version" but especially with software and programs etc. its not always the case. Sometimes they fix what wasn't broken. So I was just wondering for those people out there who use Adobe Photoshop, what version do you recommend?

Thank you.
