Opacity of video layer changes after export

Hey guys,
I added a layer of smoke elements from the Video Copilot series over my video. I lowered the opacity to about 20% to make the smoke more discrete. In my Premiere timeline and the first export I did to preview it, everything looked fine.

However, now I'm trying to export it again and for some reason, the opacity of the smoke has returned to 100%. I tried many different export settings, nothing doing. Any ideas what the problem is? Thanks in advance!
