• Most new users don't bother reading our rules. Here's the one that is ignored almost immediately upon signup: DO NOT ASK FOR FANEDIT LINKS PUBLICLY. First, read the FAQ. Seriously. What you want is there. You can also send a message to the editor. If that doesn't work THEN post in the Trade & Request forum. Anywhere else and it will be deleted and an infraction will be issued.
  • If this is your first time here please read our FAQ and Rules pages. They have some useful information that will get us all off on the right foot, especially our Own the Source rule. If you do not understand any of these rules send a private message to one of our staff for further details.

BBC: Neil Innes: Monty Python songwriter dies aged 75

I fortunately saw him live a year or so back. So many classics:

His little "Brave, brave sir robin" song might be my favourite:

His deliberately bad guitar solo in this clip is stunning :D :

His Rutles songs were as good as the real Beatles songs they were spoofing:

Fun fact: The band 'Death cab for Cutie' are named after one of his songs.

Christopher Tolkien, son of Lord of the Rings author J.R.R. dies aged 95.

BREAKING-NEWS-1229404.webp

That's very sad news.  Christopher Tolkien's been the custodian of his father's work for what seems like an age.  I wonder to whom that mantle will pass.

"oh, fuck off, I'm full."
               Mr. Creosote.

Very sad day, indeed.
