Original Film: The Tree of Life
Fanedit Length: 12 minutes
Brief Summary:
This is the creation and eventual destruction of the universe. With music by Tool.
Terrence Malickâs original idea for âTree of Lifeâ was a project called âQasida,â or âQâ for short. It was to be a story about the origins of life and featured a âsleeping god, underwater, dreaming of the origins of the universe, starting with the big bang and moving forward, as fluorescent fish swam into the deityâs nostrils.â I wasnât trying to recreate this idea, as that would be too difficult. So I figured Iâd just use the trippy parts of âTree of Lifeâ and sync it up to some Tool.

âMilo & Otisâ is a Japanese film about a cat and dog swept up in hazardous adventures in the wild. âAnimalsâ is a progressive rock album by Pink Floyd, inspired in part by George Orwellâs âAnimal Farmâ. It takes aim at politics, with deeper themes of life and death, manipulation, greed, blind faith and power. And itâs pretty rocking.
