Cuts and moves yes. Crossfades no. My biggest pet peeve about Vegas.

crossfades yes. if you drag 6 clips over 6 clips, you bet it will create 6 crossfades.
 
Not if the 6 clips are wearing 6 condoms.

That's true, but that is the only way. There is now way to tweak crossfades on a group of tracks simultaneously other than the way you just described. I.E., change the style of a fade or crossfade, or change duration of a regular fade.
