So I got the go ahead to upgrade my system. I'm a used tech buyer so I won't be getting anything new or current. I've been entertaining the idea of moving away from a laptop but didn't want to get a huge tower. I've been looking and intel NUC gaming machines for awhile as a possibility, but they are all a bit more than I'd like to spend. I did find this rig that's right in the sweet spot of price and power that I'm looking for and wanted to get some feedback from everyone to see what their thoughts are.

Here's the machine specs

MSI Trident 3 8th Gen
CPU: Intel i7-8700
16gb ram DDR4 2400MHz
GeForce® GTX 1070 8GB GDDR5

What I like
It's a small form factor making it easy to move around if needed.
Has lots of processing power (by my standards)
New fanediting screen will be 50" 👀

What I am apprehensive about
It's a tower and will require me to edit in a single space rather than where ever I want.
Only one usb 3 (but I can get a dock for that if needed)

Anyone have any experience with MSI or thoughts on this rig for fanediting and light gaming (Lego games for my kids)

Looking at the prices that you can get one of those for...it seems unreal that you get so much bang. If you can live with a desktop...50" screen? Sounds like a perfect deal. I saw one on ebay for $99.00. Amazing!

My friend has one of their Raider gaming laptops. He loves it. Much more expensive animal, however.

I'm in the market for a new PC. Let us know how this one turns out and I might get one too!

The TV I'm assuming. I looked at the prices and what I paid was more and it was a great deal.

Well I bought it. It's working like a charm so far :) This is the first time I've had an ssd running the OS. Silky smooth :) Hopefully Vegas will do well on this machine. If not I may need to try out DaVinci Resolve now that my specs work with it.

Preview play back at BEST FULL setting without doing any tweaking to the settings in Vegas!!!! YES! I may want to edit more often now :)
Kiddo played some Lego HP too with everything maxed out. Sorry, this is a new experience for me. Great first impressions on this rig so far.
